What is Microinjection (ICSI)?

For the microinjection technique, the highest quality sperm in the semen is preferred. The immobilized tail of the sperm cell is extracted using extremely sensitive microinjectors. The collected sperm is introduced into the egg cell using an injector. Before this application, the cells around the egg are cleaned. Mature egg metaphase is done in 2 stages, The fertilization event is carried out by selecting an egg cell in the metaphase 2 stage. Sperm shapes have no effect on fertilization or pregnancy rates when using the microinjection technique.

Who is microinjection applied to?

1. In case of unexplained infertility

2. If both fallopian tubes are blocked

3. Ovulation disorders, in case of advanced polycystic ovary syndrome

4. In cases of endometriosis, endometrioma (chocolate cysts)

5. Sperm quality disorders, azoospermia

6. When cervical factor is detected

7. When the sperm count is low,

8. Patients who will undergo preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD)

9. In the presence of immunological factors.
